This depends on the level and age of the student and how quickly they want to progress. Another factor to consider is to ask yourself “What do you consider to be good?”
Some people want to be able to play a few songs and that’s great! Some people would like to play at a concert level on stage which involves decades of studying, practicing and preliminary theory examinations.
But, if you are looking just to play for your own enjoyment, the most important thing is to practice everyday and to complete weekly assignments and you will be able to play different styles and music genres comfortably within a few years.

Lesson activities are included in the fee, however music workbooks will be charged to you at a discounted rate. You don’t need to get any books, I’ll do that for you. I use various piano books and theory methods to suit different learning styles but some of my most commonly used series include Alfred’s Basic Piano Library, RCM Celebration Series, My First Piano Adventures and Keyboard Theory Preparatory Books. I’m always researching new materials and expanding my library so I can find the music that inspires each student.
